Personal And Practical Favours - DIY On A Budget!
Our favours were all handmade using wine glasses bought from Morrisons (they worked out about 50p each for the wine glasses and the tumblers). I then bought the gel from HobbyCraft which I used to write on the glasses with. Here is a link to the gold one (https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/pebeo-gold-cerne-relief/607004-1002). It only cost £3.90 per pen. I then bought some Chinese crystals from a craft shop that were 99p for 100 crystals.
I wrote the names of our guests on either a wine glass or a tumbler (women had wine glass and men a tumbler), and not only were they the favours but they also acted as place names. What was amazing to see on the wedding day was that the guests all used their glasses to drink from all day and night, and there was no worrying whose glass was whose because they were personalised!
At the bottom of the wine glass/ back of the tumbler I wrote the date of the wedding to. I then added crystals using the gel pen to make a dot and stuck a crystal on with a pair of tweezers.
If I could do it again I wouldn't change a thing. I still get pictures now off friends and family (4 years on) of them having a drink in their glass. I love it when I go into their kitchens and see their glasses in the cupboard. The effort was definitely worth it.
